Alumni Account Changes

As of 2021, Google updated various data storage policies. Those changes have caused us to rethink what Alumni accounts have access to. Below are the changes being made with the dates.

Google Drive – Beginning February 1, 2022 storage limitations will be imposed.  A quota will be used to limit the amount of data allowed to be stored within the account. *To export contents from your Google Drive use the attached steps ‘Export-Drive-files.pdf’

Email Forwarding – Beginning December 1, 2021, the ability to forward Daemen emails will be disabled. This means in order to access your account you will need to log in via a web browser or supported mail app.

Email (POP & IMAP) – Beginning December 1, 2021, the ability to access emails via either the POP or IMAP protocol will be disabled. This means in order to access your account you will need to log in via a web browser or supported mail app.

Email (Apple Mail Users) – Beginning February 2023, for security purposes, access to the apple mail app on both iPhones and MacOS specifically for alumni accounts has been discontinued. On an iPhone this is simply a matter of installing the Gmail app. On a desktop or laptop, you can do the same on the apple store or simply use your choice of web browser.

Google Photos – Beginning February 1, 2022, the ability to use photos will be disabled. Once this is disabled the ability to get any and all Photo’s within your account will be removed. **To export contents from your Google Drive use the attached steps ‘Export-Photos.pdf’

Will you lose your Alumni Account? Accounts will not be deleted nor disabled on the dates listed above.

We ask in order to retain access to your Daemen Alumni account you’ll need to log in once every six months. If you don’t access your account at least once every six months your account will be disabled for inactivity.
